I have a few black feather quills left in my bird. What should I do about them?

Sometimes there will be a few black feather quills still left on the turkey after plucking. This is caused by changes in temperature when we are rearing the birds and is completely normal. The stumps are harmless and most of any that may be left will shrivel up during cooking. As we hand finish every birds, it is impossible to remove each and every one, please don`t ruin your Christmas with tweezers trying to remove them.

Are they Organic and what are they fed on?

Our turkeys are not organic as they are not fed organic cereals, however they are reared to the highest welfase standards and are fed on locally grown cereals WITHOUT any drugs, additives or growth promoters.

How should I store my turkey?

To ensure your bird is at its best on Christmas Day please follow these simple steps:

  • Remove the bird from its packaging.

  • Take out the giblets & keep these in a covered bowl in the fridge. (Giblets make amazing gravy, try Grandma Lindsells recipe).

  • Place the turkey on a tray, cover loosely with foil and store in the bottom of your fridge.
